9.45pm GMT/4.45pm ET - FOX PRE-GAME COVERAGE IS PHENOMENAL, TNT SPORTS UK SHOULD FOLLOW SUIT FOR THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL
Watching the FOX Pre-game coverage, which has included four different programmes, with FOX NFL SUNDAY as the centrepiece, I have to say it has really brought across the size, scale and importance of Super Bowl. The staging on Bourbon Street, New Orleans, and outside and inside the Caesars Superdome, is extraordinary and the variety of pundits, guests and fan interactions, alongside special features and interviews has been tremendous. It really has set the scene for the big game. TNT Sports UK should do the same for the UEFA Champions League Final in Munich, giving it the treatment a game of its status requires.
9.30pm GMT/4.30pm ET - NFL AIMS TO GO GLOBAL, SO SURELY THERE SHOULD BE A WORLD LEAGUE
The NFL has confirmed games in Dublin, Madrid and Melbourne, to go with games in Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Mexico City and London, with the aim of staging as many as 16 regular season games outside of the United States. Some have speculated that franchises such as the Jacksonville Jaguars could move permanently to become the London franchise, but for the NFL to be a serious worldwide league they need to build new franchises from the bottom up. Coming soon to SHANK World Sport - NFL GOES GLOBAL, A VISION FOR AN NFL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
