MacINTYRE AND DRYBURGH JOIN RISING STARS AND UNSUNG HEROES AS BIG WINNERS AT 2025 SCOTTISH GOLF AWARDS
Players, volunteers, coaches and clubs celebrated at gala ceremony in Glasgow
Robert MacIntyre and Gemma Dryburgh joined grassroots heroes and rising stars of the amateur game as big winners at the 2025 Scottish Golf Awards.
Back after an eight-year absence, supporters of the game gathered for the Awards on Friday night at the voco® Grand Central Glasgow and celebrated all that’s good about the game of golf in Scotland.
Hosts Eilidh Barbour and Martin Geissler announced winners from 11 categories at an event delivered in partnership with Limitless and 21 CC Group.
The ceremony recognised the achievements of players (both professional and amateur), volunteers, coaches, clubs and officials who all contributed hugely to the success and profile of golf in Scotland during the past year.
Professional Male Golfer of the Year: Majestic MacIntrye the pride of Scotland

Oban man's two wins on PGA Tour, including emotional Genesis Scottish Open triumph, helps him land award sponsored by Halfspace. Robert MacIntyre has been named Scottish Golf’s Professional Male Golfer of the Year following on from a fairytale season where two emotional wins on the PGA Tour helped the man from Oban capture the hearts of the golfing world.
This latest award, sponsored by Halfspace, confirms MacIntyre’s status as Scotland’s number one male golfer.
The judging panel felt that the 28-year-old deserved the award not only for winning the RBC Canadian Open and the Genesis Scottish Open in spectacular fashion, but also for the way he flies the flag for Scotland on a global stage.
MacIntyre’s commitments on the PGA Tour meant he couldn’t accept the award in person at the Scottish Golf Awards. However, after being told that he’d won the Male Professional of the Year title in advance of the gala dinner, MacIntyre said: "I’m absolutely delighted. I always try and do my best at the game of golf no matter what level I’m playing. I’ve obviously had the support and lucky breaks at the right time. I just keep trusting the people around me and what I do. I’m delighted to win especially with all the good players we have now on the DP World Tour and hopefully more can join me here on the PGA Tour.”
MacIntyre won a new army of fans last June when he won his maiden PGA Tour event at the RBC Canadian Open in Ontario with dad Dougie on the bag.
Professional Female Golfer of the Year: She's a Gem! Dryburgh thrilled to be named top Scot

Gemma Dryburgh has admitted that she’s fiercely proud to represent Scotland on the world stage and humbled to have been named Scottish Golf’s Professional Female Golfer of the Year.
Dryburgh’s ongoing successes on the LPGA Tour ensured she took the crown tonight ahead of fellow nominees Heather Macrae and Hannah McCook. The Aberdonian remains Scotland’s highest-ranked female player and in 2024 enjoyed two top 10s on the LPGA Tour as well as a top 20 finish in the Evian Championship – one of five Majors on the women’s schedule.
Although unable to attend the ceremony in person due to her LPGA schedule, Dryburgh sent a video message and admitted she was chuffed to have been recognised by the Scottish Golf Performance Department for her success at the top of the women’s game.
Dryburgh said: “I’m very, very excited. I grew up watching Scots on Tour especially Catriona Matthew and to be on tour now and accept this award is a true honour. I have the Scottish flag on my bag and ball marker. I’m the solo Scot on the LPGA at the moment but hope to have help in coming years. It’s a true honour to have that flag on my bag and even back to when I was playing amateur. It’s great to have Scottish Golf behind me too, you guys always support me on social media and I really appreciate it. I’m now excited for the season ahead and hopefully I can keep flying that Saltire high on the leaderboards.”
Speaking in a video shown to the audience at the Scottish Golf Awards, Dryburgh added: “I’m honoured to win this award tonight. I hope you have a fantastic evening and enjoy celebrating.” Both Macrae and McCook were also worthy of their nominations in this category. Macrae helped GB&I finish fourth at the PGA Cup in America and continues to support the grassroots game through her coaching programmes. McCook, from Nethy Bridge, enjoyed two top twenty finishes on the 2024 LET Access Tour and ended the season inside the LETAS top 50 on the Order of Merit.
